About Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (Oklahoma)

The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education serves as the coordinating board of control for all institutions in Oklahoma's State System of Higher Education.

With a current enrollment of more than 233,000 students, the state system is comprised of 25 colleges and universities and 11 constituent agencies and one higher education center. Each institution is governed by a board of regents.

The State Regents, in cooperation with the Office of State Finance, operate OneNet, the state's information and telecommunications network for education and government which inter-connects with National LambdaRail.

Other responsibilities of the State Regents include prescribing academic standards of higher education, determining functions and courses of study at state colleges and universities, granting degrees, recommending to the state legislature budget allocations for each college and university, and recommending proposed fees within limits set by the legislature.
