The Illinois Century Network Perspective: Equipping our States and Communities with Broadband and the Resulting Synergies with R&E [ Slides Lori Sorenson oversees the administration and technology strategy for the Illinois Century Network, which connects over 8,000 schools, libraries, healthcare providers, museums, municipalities and state agencies throughout Illinois and serves more than 2 million citizens every day with high-speed access to video, data and audio communications. Lori will speak on the successes and lessons learned about broadband-enabling state and local government and community anchor institutions, the model Illinois has adopted and why – and the resulting impact. Also addressed will be how the assets and expertise of a research and education network like NLR could support the Illinois Century Network in their objectives and the mutual synergies and shared opportunities ahead of us. |
